Sarchimor

Contrary to common belief, "Sarchimor" is not in itself a distinct variety. Rather, it is a group of many distinct varieties with a similar lineage, created to resist coffee rust in different producing countries.

Description

One of Timor’s rust-resistant hybrid plants, called HDT CIFC 832/2, was crossed with the compact Villa Sarchi to create hybrid 361 (H361). The hybrid was nicknamed "Sarchimor" and was created just in time to counter the arrival of leaf rust in the Americas.
/ Descendants derived from Sarchimor have given rise to varieties with stable characteristics in different countries: Brazil, Iapar 59, Tupí and Obatá; Honduras, Parainema; El Salvador El Cuscatleco; Nicaragua, Marseillaise
/ Low size, green or bronze shoot, vigor and high production, well suited in low and medium altitude areas

The imaginary legacy of Sarchimor

Perfect as a work of art, fragile as a flower, but robust as a coffee bean. The orchid, like the Sarchimor, breeds in several varieties and colors but still embodies the same mysterious beauty sometimes inaccessible.
